PAVIDDARK: Disneyland - Interstate 5 (part 1 of 2)
The last time I was at Disneyland was for my senior trip in high school in 2008. Four years later I’m in a car with Manuel, Jake, Aaron, EJ and Jenny at 1 AM going there again. There was no way to start off 2012 better than this. Well maybe it could’ve been better if I didn’t immediately get sick once we got to the hotel..
We all crammed in Manuel’s stepdad’s pickup truck. I sat in the bitch seat, which felt like sitting on a wooden bench (by the 6 hour mark, i was dying to get out of that car). The playlist consisted of the whole Saosin self titled album, and alot of bayside (and the typical *nsync and nu-metal that we always listen to on road trips).
By the time we crawled over the Grapevine, the sun came out and reminded me i’ve been up for like 20 hours and that I’m probably not going to sleep anytime soon.
What you’re seeing in this video is a very ecstatic state of davidpark. Literally minutes before this video was shot, I was in my Communications class finishing up my last final of the semester. Possibly the most glorious feeling in the world, next to realizing that the cop in your rearview mirror isn’t going to pull you over for going 7 miles over the speed limit.
To celebrate, the crew and I drove to Santa Cruz, CA. It was a nice sunny day too, which enhanced to the days mood.
Yosemite National Park is just a beautiful work of nature. No cell phone reception, just trees, rivers, mountains, and waterfalls. Go to the Half Dome viewpoint. It will humble you.

Manuel (xthegiveristheshitx), JayR, Tino and I head east towards Reno for their rap battles. The promoter paid for our hotel and gas to come out, which was really cool.
The drive wasn’t too bad, and the scenery through the snowy mountains were gorgeous. We managed to make it their in one piece (after a minor freak out on a narrow road), and learned a few things about each other..like how JayR’s old band got fucked over by buying a piece of crap van from this band Jet Black Horror… Manuel’s love for streams… JayR’s hatred for catsup..
