paviddark - Lets Go Oakland

What better way to spend a sober fourtwenty than by going to a baseball game? I don’t particularly love baseball, but I do enjoy the atmosphere of a live game. People cheering, people booing, applause for a certain batter, vendors selling cotton candy, theatric responses to bad calls… it’s all amazing.

What’s crazy is when people have so much loyalty towards their favorite team. During the 7th inning, I took a little stroll around the Oracle Arena and saw some kid with a small A’s logo tattooed on his neck. He couldn’t have been older than his teen years, but regardless of his age this guy branded Oakland’s baseball team’s logo on his person. I can’t think of anything that I would have that much dedication towards.

Apart from these observations, I’ve also noticed that whenever I attend a baseball game, that home team loses.

4-3, Cleveland Indians. Good Game.

paviddark - “two

I attended my friend’s niece’s second birthday (for the food of course). I don’t get to attend too many family parties since most of my family either lives overseas and scattered throughout America, so these are always fun little events for me.

___

The earliest birthdays that I can remember are when I turned four and five.

I only remember my fourth birthday because there’s a picture of me sitting at my dad’s seat at the dinner table in our old apartment in San Jose. I sat there wearing this hideous forrest green sweater and my parents brought out this huge chocolate cake for me and only me (I have no siblings, and I probably didn’t have friends at the age of four). It’s a really vague memory. What I can make out of it was that most of the lights in our apartment were off. We might have just gotten home from a family trip (for some reason I want to say we just got back from Lake Tahoe). Something about that day I just remember as being super eerie and dark. It could have been that my parents had just gotten into an argument or something along the lines of some family conflict. Or none of that might have happened and that I was just a small frail scared child afraid of the dark.

On a lighter note, my fifth birthday was great. I celebrated it with my pre-school class in Milpitas. My dad brought this power rangers cake which had little plastic power ranger characters standing upright. I remember saving those little characters and adding them to my roster of toys.

Song - At Last Ashore
Artist - Giants

PAVIDDARK - Episode 16

Once again we are back in San Francisco for the Academy of Science. The line for the entrance was a little bit longer this time..

One thing that really blows about going to San Francisco is that if you leave anywhere between 3 to 7pm, you’re fucked in bumper to bumper traffic. To avoid this, we just stayed in San Francisco until 7:30ish. It was pretty exhausting but definitely worth not sitting in traffic. We spent most of our time at the Golden Gate Park and also the Boudin on Fisherman’s wharf.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 15: Christmas at the 578 House

Usually I don’t really go out on Christmas because I feel bad leaving my parents at home by themselves. I’m 1/3 of the family household so it’s pretty significant when i’m not home. But this time I was feeling a little crazy and went to the 578 house.

What I didn’t expect was an all out airsoft gun war to break out between the tenants and Jared from Recognize. I felt like a field reporter in the middle of a war zone.

I had a great time though and I didn’t get shot!

PAVIDDARK - Episode 14: Winter Break

What you’re seeing in this video is a very ecstatic state of davidpark. Literally minutes before this video was shot, I was in my Communications class finishing up my last final of the semester. Possibly the most glorious feeling in the world, next to realizing that the cop in your rearview mirror isn’t going to pull you over for going 7 miles over the speed limit.

To celebrate, the crew and I drove to Santa Cruz, CA. It was a nice sunny day too, which enhanced to the days mood.

We did hit some traffic though.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 13: 90’s Pop Appreciation

The first Compact Disk that I purchased was *NSYNC’s self titled debut. This was in 1997. It’s 2012 and I’ll still play Tearin’ up my Heart with no shame. Well maybe a little shame with the windows rolled all the way up. Nonetheless, it makes great road trip music because everyone secretly knows the lyrics to at least one *nsync song.

In this video, we discuss the hot debate of *nsync vs backstreet boys…

what side are you on?

PAVIDDARK - Episode 12: Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is just a beautiful work of nature. No cell phone reception, just trees, rivers, mountains, and waterfalls. Go to the Half Dome viewpoint. It will humble you.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 11: The Aquarium

We’re back in San Francisco again! But this time we went to the California Academy of Science. If you lived in Northern California when you were in grade school, then you’ve probably been to this place on a field trip.

Admission was free on this particular day, so a lot of the attractions were pretty packed with long lines. We spent the majority of the time at the aquarium.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 10: DEV live in the 209

I don’t normally go to clubs. Actually, I never go to clubs. But I went this one time to see Dev and Kreayshawn perform at Club Rainn in Modesto, CA.

Dev was amazing and gorgeous in person. I felt lucky seeing her at a small club in bumfuck Modesto than at a huge arena for 50 bucks with hundreds of people.

Watch this intimate show that she put on.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 9: Bread Bowls

If you haven’t been to Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39 in San Francisco then you’re definitely missing out on wacky street performers, sad looking animals made out of bread, people with metallic paint on their skin acting like robots, the BUSHMAN, sea lions, and Alcatraz.

These are all things that are encountered in the video above.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 8: 4th of July

On the 4th of July every year, our town holds a breakfast in Lincoln Park. Then hours later after people awake from their food comas’, they will come back to Lincoln Park to watch the fireworks.

These fireworks are set off about three quarters of a mile away behind the high school nearby. If you really want a show, then you can join the 100 people who decide to watch the fireworks from right where they set them off. We were these people in 2010.

Just wait until the finale towards the end of the video.

PAVIDDARK - Episode 7: Zombie Hunting

Alright, so there might not be any real zombies in this episode… but you can watch our reactions to people dressed up as zombies.

Basically what had happened was that we (manuel and i) got event invites for a flash mob in our small town of Tracy… and it was a Zombie Flash Mob. “AWESOME” we thought… but how quickly things went sour…

PAVIDDARK - Episode 6: Kitchen Talk (part 2)

All that I have to say about this episode is that we (jake, manuel, and I) ramble on and on about nickelodeon and disney stars.. Hmm there’s also mention of Kat Denning’s double D’s.. the story so far.. will smith.. drake bell..

Honestly, just load the video and skim through it. It’s really long.
